Warehouse Logistics Optimization System Pick to Light

The Pick to Light system (also known as Pick by Light) is designed to accelerate the order picking process from storage locations on warehouse racks and to minimize picker errors by simplifying operations to a basic level.
The core of the technology is based on the “light-guided picking” principle — visual indication of storage bins containing the items required for order fulfillment.
Each bin is equipped with a digital display and/or an indicator light.

The Put to Light system (also known as Put by Light) is used for the reverse process — sorting incoming product flows. It is designed to speed up the placement of items into storage locations on warehouse racks while virtually eliminating operator errors. In this case, the light indicators highlight the designated locations for storing the distributed goods.

The same set of hardware is used for both processes. The general abbreviated name for the system is PTL. The implementation of order picking or distribution scenarios is handled by the software algorithms of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Advantages of the PTL System

The hardware components of the PTL system include: a network controller, scanner interface unit, various types of modules, signal lighting, illuminated indicator buttons, electronic labeling tags, and other equipment.

The network controller connects to the warehouse IT infrastructure via Ethernet or WiFi and connects to the bin equipment through a dedicated device bus.
The basic system architecture and installation are as follows:

Each type of module can be used with both wired and wireless controllers!

Pick Bar System

The Pick Bar system is a cost-effective and efficient solution. Each storage location is equipped with a light indicator that shows the exact position for the operation.
This system is suitable for uniformly sized storage locations and is designed according to specific customer requirements.

When using mobile shelving units (such as AGV carts, etc.), the system can be used with a Wi-Fi controller, provided that power is supplied from the mobile unit’s onboard systems.
It enables flexible configuration of shelving layouts within the warehouse facility.
