RASS (RINAR Automated Sorting System) is a high-level system designed to perform sorting tasks for various transported objects in airport baggage handling systems (analogous to SAC) and in warehouse logistics systems (analogous to WCS) based on external information regarding sorting direction and rules.
This is a patented development by RINAR-Automatics LLC.
The system is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software.
It has been implemented and is currently in operation at several airports and warehouses across the Russian Federation.
The RASS Automatic Sorting Control System is a functional tool for organizing, managing, and controlling the flow of baggage or other transported units. It provides the following features (using a Baggage Handling System as an example):
Data exchange and interaction with various airport IT systems.
Flight assignment to designated sorting directions.
Management of baggage flow from check-in counters and other input points to output points in the system.
Tracking baggage movement throughout the system based on passenger and flight route information.
Transmission of standard baggage status messages to the airport IT system.
Easy monitoring of baggage load on sorting destinations.
Data logging, information management, and collection of statistics on handled baggage.
Display of baggage sorting results and movement history within the airport’s Baggage Handling System (BHS).
RASS also provides:
A reliable hardware-software complex for automated baggage sorting management with process visualization.
Statistical data and reports necessary for system performance analysis and improvement.
Real-time data for baggage identification and matching.
Powerful tools for statistical analysis.
A user-oriented and intuitive interface.
The RASS system includes, but is not limited to:
Graphical Sorting Process Visualization System:
For a clear and intuitive overview of the entire system, enabling real-time monitoring and management of sorting processes.
Manual control capabilities in case of abnormal situations and/or internal logistical changes.
Functionality to assign specific items (e.g., baggage units) to specific sorting destinations (e.g., drop trays, order assembly carousels) based on various characteristics such as destination city, time, weight, and other configurable parameters. This ensures maximum efficiency in distributing baggage or cargo flows.
PostgreSQL Database:
A powerful open-source relational database management system.
Ensures reliable, stable, and consistent storage of large volumes of data, including transport object movement and status information.
Log Files:
Continuous data recording with detailed information on each sorting step, including initial parameters, decisions made, steps completed, and results obtained.
System performance is monitored, issues are identified along with their root causes, and sorting processes are optimized.
The RASS system by RINAR-Automation ensures real-time automation and control of baggage and transport object sorting processes. It guarantees high precision and efficiency in Baggage Handling Systems and warehouse logistics, helping organizations optimize and manage complex logistics processes, ultimately enhancing productivity and service quality.
