The airport is located in the Krasnodar Krai on the territory of the city of Gelendzhik, on the western shore of Gelendzhik Bay in the area of the Thin Cape. In 2014, Gelendzhik Airport was named the best regional airport in the country according to the results of the online voting of the Russian Air Gate Award.
